The unthinkable happened last night: Virginia Mew and Boadicea stood nose to nose and didn’t hiss at each other. It’s an improvement. They’ve also sniffed at each other through the child gate.
I bought them some toys with my allowance. The three of them clustered around me, eager to play with what I had brought. Then, after they gave each thing the obligatory pop of the paws, Boadicea and Fiona followed me into the office and played with my shoelaces while they were still on my feet.
I place Boadicea on my shoulders now or she climbs up there on her own. She likes to watch the movement of the screen and purr in my ear. I like that. It reminds me of what Ambrose used to do until his little heart blew a valve and we had to put him down last Christmas.
