Psychological Warfare

While the U.S. Government pours millions into its propaganda campaign, the Iraqis have found a low tech way of putting across a point. The Iraqi Parliament has voted to place signs at the entrance to the Bagdhad and other British cemeteries throughout the country. The signs will read (in English):

The invading armies have left behind their dead on the land they had invaded, but without leaving signs of pride for their nations to remember or anything that God might accept. The homeland remains always with its people and their great deeds that remind young generations of the ancestors’ resistance and sacrifice.

The British cemetery in Bagdhad holds the remains of thousands of British fighting men who died during resistance to the 1917 occupation of the country.

Thought: Before they start demanding equal time, let’s pull the purse strings shut on George Bush’s jingoism campaign until the Iraqis get caught up. He’s said what he wants to say more than 18 times.

We got the message, George, and we still don’t want to war.
