Dream

Posted on April 28, 2004 in Dreams

square232.gifI dreamed that I was rising from bed and walking down the hall. I practiced each step before I took it beneath the sheets. I took it. Then I was back in bed, practicing the next sequence of steps which included the first step I took. And so on. With great effort I walked down the blank hallway and found myself at the foot of a ladder, which I climbed to a submarine hatch. I opened it, looked out. A cyclopean steel wall — a battleship — floated next to the sub. I ordered a mine attached to the hull. Then we dived, dived. I gave another order: Detonate the explosive. The deep rumbled with the death. We surfaced and listened to the radio. “Where had this come from? Who did this? How did it happen?” I realized that I had surprised them, that they could not contend with a new force which thought between their holes.

You will not find me on the streets outside clinics, taunting and shaming women who come there because they have no other options. Nor will you find me on the inside of the clinic.
