Note: This is seventh in a series based on exercises from A Writer’s Book of Days. It’s something of a rebellion against the Friday Five and similar tupperware content memes.
Today’s topic: This is not about….
It’s not about live oaks or white herons or Easter. It’s not about rivers flowing out of streams that flow, in their turn, out of shallow mountain lakes and cold talus slopes. It’s no subject at all. It is silence. It’s the distraction and the illusion of content. It’s about being tired and not wanting to write, about resisting a force march, even though the course and its obstacles have been chosen by me.
Want to participate? First either get yourself a copy of A Writer’s Book of Days by Judy Reeves or read these guidelines. Then either check in to see what the prompt for the day is or read along in the book.
Tomorrow’ topic/prompt: One thing can’t be denied….
