Here’s the translation for the French of Gary Trudeau’s strip about things French or “Freedom”.

Best line:

Zonker: Nous avon liberé la France pour qu’elle soit libre. Libre de domination étrangerè! Pigez?


Translation: Zonker: We liberated France so it could be free! Free of foreign domination! Get it?

Trudeau fails to note that France’s aid at the at the Battle of Yorktown secured our liberty. Never once has it gone to war with us.

And while we’re talking liberation, isn’t it time that the United States started allowing the Iraqis to select their own leaders and be free of our foreign domination?
