I’ve been a supporter of the InterNet as “folk revolution” as long as I have had an email account (since 1988). Aortal.com is not a network or a portal, but a movement of bloggers who, each week, promote another blog. This is a Thursday series. I encourage others to do the same.
I discovered a wonderful new blog through Ecotone: Under the Fire Star is one western woman’s account of life in India. Nancy currently resides in Chennai, India. She posts in pictures and in words, both of which strike the mind and make you think about your assumptions about what needs to be in the place where you live.
She recently was best runner-up for best new blog. I hope that you will read her and maybe rethink your blog at least partly along the lines she is setting out.
It’s been awhile and frankly I am nervous because I like Nancy. I haven’t done one of these since December. The score for the blogs I’ve endorsed under this heading is:
Number of Aortal linkmates antagonized: 2
Number retained as friends: 4
Number lost through indifference: 3
The smallest number scares me the most.
Most of the losses occured during the Second Gulf War.
