Late

Posted on July 23, 2003 in Book of Days Humor?

Note: This is part of a series based on exercises from A Writer’s Book of Days. It’s something of a rebellion against the Friday Five and similar tupperware content memes.

Today’s topic: Write about being late.

Nothing but many lines dribbling through my head:

“I’m late!” So quoth the White Rabbit.

“You’re late!” The totally unoriginal line spoken by many clock addicted bosses who can find no other reason for their authority because they are largely superfluous rectalgiacs (translation: UNNECESSARY PAINS IN THE ASS).

“The Late Mr. X” Damn! They’re strict!

End of commentary. Sense of humor rapidly becoming sophomoric.

Others who participate:

Red Water Lily and Joker on the Run have both been caught doing it, too, but I’m still watching to see if they are regular about it before adding them to the participants list. (Watch your toes! The hints I drop are HEAVY!)

Want to participate? First either get yourself a copy of A Writer’s Book of Days by Judy Reeves or read these guidelines. Then either check in to see what the prompt for the day is or read along in the book.

Tomorrow’ topic/prompt: Write about a conversation.
