Darrell Issa’s Criminal Past

in Accountability Gray Davis Recall Scoundrels
This is the power behind the drive to recall Gray Davis:
- A 1972 weapons conviction in Michigan. Issa lies and says it was just “a little, teeny pistol”. Fact: A little teeny .25 caliber semi-automatic with seven bullets in the clip, 44 additional rounds of bullets, and a tear gas gun with two rounds ready to go. Concealed.
- Then there is his tale of guarding Nixon at the 1971 World Series. Nixon never went to the 1971 World Series and Issa’s unit never received such an assignment.
- A 1972 indictment for car theft in Ohio (dropped when he returned the car) and a 1980 arrest for car theft in California.
- A former service mate said that Issa stole his car. “Rather than involve the courts, [Retired 1st Sergeant Jay] Bergey said, he opted for a more direct approach: “I confronted Issa . . . . I got in his face and threatened to kill him, and magically my car reappeared the next day.”
From stem to root, the Republican Party is one sick tree.
