The recall is officially set for October 7 and we’re ready for you, Darrell Issa. The Democratic National Committee is going toe to toe with the Reapies and they’re playing for keeps:
“We’re going to make it clear to all Californians that this thing is the handiwork of a little band of right-wing nuts,” said Garry South, one of Davis’s chief political advisers.
And that is what it is about. It’s about a man with arrests for car theft and Congressman named Darrell Issa who has been shown to be a liar about many many things including a concealed weapons conviction. Übermensch Arnold Schwatzeneggar is considering a run for the polls as is Bill Simon who tried unsuccessfully to buy the last election. Imagine Arnold blushing as Democrats turn out along the streets waving the fascist salute and crying Sieg Heil to the Terminator. It’s not going to be pretty.
Arnold’s thinking that maybe show business is the place for him for the time being.
Among the endorsements for Gray Davis is Patti Davis, daughter of the not-dead-yet Ronald Reagan. She gets at the real truth of the problems in California:
I didn’t sign the petition to recall Davis, by the way. I like his commitment to environmental issues and, while I know he’s fallen short in some areas, being governor is a hard job and he might just be in a bit of a slump. Besides, we’re so quick to break up with people. Shouldn’t we try to work on relationships instead of casting them aside at the first sign of trouble? That’s what Dr. Phil says to married couples going through troubled times. He’s always pointing out that it takes work, and negotiation, to make relationships work. It seems that, as a state, we might want to heed his advice.
What we have here in California is a Reapie legislative delegation that has been doing everything it can to not cooperate, not compromise on anything with the Democrats in the name of ruining the state so they can stage a coup. The word for what they’re attempting is sabotage: using their dollars, they are attempting to burn down the Sacramento Reichstag. It seems that Californians do need a divorce and the one they need to divorce are all those whacko Sons-of-a-Bircher legislators. Remember the Killer-Ds? California Democrats are going to put up the greatest fight in the name of freedom that you ever have seen and, unlike in Florida, we are on the watch for any Reapie electoral shenanigans.
Issa better hope he lives in a safe district because this will be the political emasculation of him once the Democrats are through with him.
