Fishing

Posted on July 27, 2003 in Humor? Scoundrels

I first heard this joke told about General Rios-Montt of Guatemala. It has been adapted for the present day:

George W. Bush went out fishing with his Cabinet. It was a terrible day. They spent hours and hours at the stocked pond at Camp David trying to catch something.

Just before sunset, Bush got a nibble. The nibble turned into a bite. He set the hook and reeled it in — and there he had a minnow.

He was about to throw it away when John Ashcroft said “Mr. President, may I have the fish?”

Bush looked at him. “Excuse me?”

Ashcroft said “I want the fish.”

Bush scratched his head. “But why? It’s so small!”

Ashcroft replied “Mr. President, I need the fish. Please give it to me.”

Bush shrugged his shoulders, unhooked the minnow, and gave it to Ashcroft. The Attorney General took it by the tail and began whacking it hard against his other hand. “Where are the big fish!” he yelled. “Tell us where the big fish are!”
