Why Questions Do Not Get Asked

Posted on August 16, 2003 in Journalists & Pundits Morals & Ethics

My writings about Arnold’s “charity” and the texts that I used to criticize them will probably not reach the mainstream media. Journalists and their masters do not wish to talk about Judeo-Christian-Islamic values except those which are obviously absurd or useful in nailing a liberal for the conduct of her or his private life. No one wants to cross-examine a candidate on her or his command of the Beatitudes or the rest of the Sermon on the Mount. It’s too upsetting, for these, to think that we might be flawed and promoting ideals that are evil.

This is true of most bloggers, too.

For a fine example of self-reflection that I discovered after writing the above, check natasha mary’s views in ‘Stereotyping Creates Sloppy Thinking’. She’s right. We’ve got to face up to the ways we mirror the worst of the Right.
