The blog world broke out in punditry yesterday. Everyone — including me — thought he or she knew what Nine Eleven was all about. When day was done and the obligatory vocal silences over, I looked back at all the articles and thought “But what do we really know?”
We often say ‘Live for today’. That’s America’s problem these days. We’re all still standing at the Battery watching the twin towers come down.
I will try to make this the last thing I say about 9-11 for many weeks, maybe until the date rolls around again next year. If others want to swamp their boats in the Hudson River of bitter memory, I need not swim with them.
