What a Day for a Daydream

Posted on September 21, 2003 in Book of Days Pulmonary

Note: This is part of a series based on exercises from A Writer’s Book of Days. It’s something of a rebellion against the Friday Five and similar tupperware content memes.

Today’s topic: Write a daydream.

Today was not a day for daydreams. I’ve been sucking ventolin as an antidote to the bronchitis that has developed as a result of my cold. Dreams came when I slept and I slept for hours upon hours. When I woke up, there was the reality of the itch that I cannot reach with my fingers, deep inside my lungs.

No, today was not for daydreaming. It was for fighting the world and doing my darndest to feel better.

Maybe some of the other bloggers had something more to say.

Want to participate? First either get yourself a copy of A Writer’s Book of Days by Judy Reeves or read these guidelines. Then either check in to see what the prompt for the day is or read along in the book.

Tomorrow’ topic/prompt: “In the blue night frost haze….” (after Gary Snyder)
