Gray Davis, Hero

Gray Davis (who remains Governor for the next month or so) is doing a superb job of meeting the challenge of the Southern California wildfires. The only county which seems to be tripping all over itself is San Diego, bastion of the power behind the Schwarzenegger throne, Pete Wilson.

I’m glad Gray’s still around to do the right thing when things are at their worst this fall. It’s his commitment to organizing a unified response in preparation for disasters such as this that is making the difference.
