I’ve been thinking a lot about emotion and the critiques we deliver in writing groups.
It seems to me that there are those of us who realize that emotions can enter into our critiques and make an effort to curb the effects. Then there are those who assume that emotions don’t enter into their critiques and consequently make no effort to guard from it coloring it.
The latter often accuse others of being “too emotional”.
