This holiday was first proclaimed by Abraham Lincoln to give thanks for the progress in reuniting a nation torn by the Civil War. Today, it seems more apt than ever to spend our holiday reflecting on the way that the People have become polarized by the policies of the present administration. May we have good reason to be thankful for a reunited nation in a year’s time.
