Money 2

Posted on November 28, 2003 in Attitudes Consuming Morals & Ethics

Money is a useful tool. So is a hammer. But we balk at allowing people to use hammers to threaten or harm others. It becomes a lethal weapon. Likewise, when we see someone obsessively hammering nails into boards beyond practicality, we identify them as insane, promote treatment for their illness.

Why then do we stand by allowing a few to threaten us with their millions or billions? Why do we do not see that the obsessive collection of money beyond all practicality is also an illness that should be treated?
