Lilies of the Field

These are not awards. They are nonawards. I started making a list of bloggers who I especially liked because they blogged as they were. For purely arbitrary reasons, I set out to declare five people as bloggers who just let their blogs come as they came themselves. When I got to five, I started flipping coins, changing my mind. So next week, I will list five more blogs.

There is no graphic that goes with this designation, no cash prize, no flood of cultic sheep following my goad to the sites. Just the mention that I like these blogs, that they are not mainstream (thank God!), that their writers try to be themselves, and that I visit them often:
