Invisible Rain

Posted on September 5, 2002 in Weather

When I stepped out onto the deck this afternoon, I caught the faintest whiff of rain. Somewhere a watery meteor speck dug a crater in the earth and buried itself instantly. I saw no signs until I got in the truck and drove a bit. Every few feet that I rolled, a drop would fracture into trinities against my windshield. By the time I got to Tully’s, the glass was spotted with tiny puddles that resembled the random tracks of miniscule leopards.
