We bought a Honeywell air filter system last night at Home Depot. I didn’t get around to setting it up until after 2 am. It was a simple matter of opening it up, wrapping a coal black “pre-filter” around the solid lace filter donut, replacing everything, plugging it in, setting the time, and programming it to run from 5:30 in the afternoon until noon the next day.
When the machine shut down at noon, the noises of the world opened to my ears like a book to my eyes. I heard a repair man giving the address of one of my neighbors to someone over a cell phone. A minute or so later, his trunk growled away.
