Tuesday will Tell

John Edwards’ sudden jump to the near forefront in Wisconsin appears to be pretty much in keeping with the betray-your-conscience-to-defeat-Bush attitude that I have ridiculed elsewhere. The weekend following the Drudge Report allegation that Kerry had had a mistress, Edwards picked up a following of worried Democrats who dreaded that Kerry might not be electable after all.

Now that that story has been debunked, will Edwards keep his momentum as most electable candidate? Tuesday will tell.
