Whiting Ranch Wilderness 18

Photo of a coast prickly pear in bloom. The wildflower display in Whiting Ranch Regional Wilderness is at its peak right now. We saw Mexican pinks, mariposa tulips, buckwheat, and monkey-flowers in bloom — just to name a few.

Prickly pears bloom in three colors — pink, orange, and yellow — on the same plant!

Thank the Universe that the flowers — left undisturbed — are indifferent to the stupidity of humankind.
