Fourth of July

square044.gifOn this day, we live under the oppression of neoconservatism, in a nation gone mad. Consider what the Usurper in the White House has done:

  • He has refused his assent to laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.
  • He has erected a multitude of new offices, and sent hither swarms of officers to harass our people and eat out their substance.
  • He has affected to render the military independent of, and superior to, the civil power.
  • He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our Constitution and unacknowledged by our laws.
  • He has protected troops by a mock trial, from punishment for any murders which they should commit
  • He has deprived us of the benefits of trial by jury
  • He has abolished our most valuable laws, and altered fundamentally the forms of our governments
  • He is at this time transporting large armies of foreign mercenaries to complete the works of death, desolation, and tyranny already begun with circumstances of cruelty and perfidy scarcely paralleled in the most barbarous ages, and totally unworthy the head of a civilized nation.

If it was good enough for the Founding Fathers to rebel against these conditions, then certainly these are good enough reasons to throw out George W. Bush and reject all neoconservative pretenders to “liberty”. On this, our Independence Day, let us commit ourselves to taking the nation back from the lunatic fringe which unlawfully occupies the seats of power in Washington D.C.

Celebrate your independence as an American by declaring that George the Third must go in November, 2004. Accept nothing less than total victory and discrediting of the neoconservative corruption of our nation.

This is my country, land that I love more than any corporation or politician or race or printed money or piece of cloth.

God save the United States from the radical and wrongful right!

LET FREEDOM REIGN RING!

Thanks to Jack Balkin for his excerpts from the Declaration of Independence which decisively point to how wrong we have turned as a nation.
