I have ended my association with this organization due to being called a “fucking loser” by the site developer who can’t take constructive criticism. If you value your intellectual property, I say avoid this site. The owner is compiling a book using the work of the people who put their bots there and he does not believe that he has to share the credit or treat users with respect or listen to their concerns. He takes himself too seriously. He lacks a sense of humor about the limits of bots. He thinks that he can disrespect people who ask him to address issues that his users raise by assailing them with profanity.

I’ve been on the Net since 1988 and I’ve seen these types come and these types go. It saddens me when someone becomes so stressed out that he begins to attack people who strive to make his community a better place. I have never said that Benji Adams didn’t work hard or that his work was not good. I never called him stupid. I never called him any vile name. He did all of the above towards me and then had the audacity to demand that I apologize or “be turned into cheese”.

I smiled and told him “It’s not worth it.”

My advice to other creative people is avoid this vehicle at all costs. There’s some nice work in a fantastic environment being done, but it is undermined by a serious attitude problem on the part of the owner.

Add lying to the above list. Word is that he could not accept a recounting of the facts and blanked out my testimony to replace it with his own spin-doctored version in which he projected his own god complex on me and then said that he’d kicked me out (I walked). As one guy said to me by email, it sounds like the Bush Administration.
