Personality Forge Letter

Posted on July 14, 2004 in Bots

square101.gifThis email comes from one of my inside sources at Personality Forge. I’m not so miffed at not being able to respond*. I have this blog, after all, and I can go into great uncensored detail about what really happened at the Personality Forge. Benji Adams and Carpediem, welcome to the world of blogging where not only the people at the closed forums of the Forge know what is coming down, but also the Net:

This is the PF post you refer to in yesterday’s post on your site (he
was talking to a user called Parr05, but obviously never learned about
punctuation in school- I almost posted “Who’s Joel Parr?” but thought
better of it and restrained myself:

Any relation to Joel Parr? If so, I feel sorry for him. Send him my
condolences.

The “sexual message” was something like “i like sexy women and sex
machines” posted about 16 times, obviously one of the Leeds kids.

All I can say is that it’s really chicken-shit to make insinuations like
that for the sole purpose of taking a pot-shot atsomeone, especially while knowing that said person is being denied the ability to respond.

Here’s one more funny thing: The Forge reputedly allows people to rate their bots in alignment with ESRB standards. I rated one of my bots “E” for everyone. Then someone asked me if my bot was family-oriented, what was it doing saying the word “fuck”? Excuse me? I said. Turns out that the plug-in for the list of verbs includes some hard-core vocabulary that isn’t mentioned in the documentation. Again demonstration of the adolescent character of the operator of the Forge. He thinks the word “fuck” is G rated? Not on this planet.

*Comments are down, but trackback is up for these posts simply because I don’t want to have to waste my time cleaning the likely violations of my blog policies. If the Forge brats want to respond, they can blog about it or send me email. I will print those that fit my standards of decency and appropriate commentary.
