The Eyes of the Nation Should Be On Texas

Posted on July 20, 2004 in Occupation of Iraq Reading Social Justice

It’s politics Tuesday!

square134.gifDoes Bush give Texas special benefits when it comes to service in Iraq? As my eyes scanned this month’s Harper’s Index I noticed two shocking lines which seem to suggest that the Usurper is giving his “home” state preferential treatment when it comes to dying in desert battles:

Chance that a member of New York’s Army National Guard was in Iraq in June: 1 in 4

Chance that a member of Texa’s Army National Guard was: 1 in 31

Those who scream most for war don’t serve? I’d like to see the statistics for the entire period of the war, month by month, state by state. There might be something here.

A Republican is someone who calls any statement of fact “Bush Bashing”
