Geocachet

Posted on October 4, 2004 in Geocaching

square002.gifWe’ve been bit. With a hundred dollars from the sale of dead Toyota, I bought a new Garmin eTrex Venture 1 MB GPS so I could accurately map some trails in Whiting Ranch Wilderness and elsewhere for Local Hikes. The fun of seeking out geocaches was too much to bear without response, so on Saturday we planted our first geocache along the popular Santiago Trail to Vulture Crags.

What a great way to unload bric-a-brac! On Sunday, we sought out three caches in our neighborhood, a fact which we broadcast on the OC Metroblogs. Just a few minutes ago, I hid a 35mm film cannister in a nearby park and listed at Geocaching.com. I am already making designs on sending a hitchhiker across the country towards Paris, Texas and then onwards to Paris, France. Lynn is going through boxes to see what she can afford to give away. This will be an excellent way to waste our weekends.

You’ll hear more about this.
