Two Countries

Here’s an idea advanced in frivolity that I give my full endorsement to: the end of the United States of America and the partition of the country. I do not endorse civil war: what I want to promote is the simple idea that the differences in the country are so deep that we must go our separate ways. The taxes we generate here in California flow out into the red states. The same is true of New York, Massachusetts, Illinois, and the other states that went for Kerry. Our wealth is going to support programs, views, and ideas that are reprehensible to us.

I want out. And towards this end, I propose that the red states and the blue states part ways like Czechia and Slovakia did. I am not proposing unilateral secession, but hands shaking in peace. It’s time for a divorce.
