The Reverse Tide

Posted on January 3, 2005 in Weather

square277.gifThe aquifiers — the sponges of pebble and sand that lie beneath the alluvial fans — are nearly topped off the National Weather Service tells us. This means that the rain won’t soak into the ground as it has done in recent storms. Water shall rise. It shall pile upon itself. It shall fill the streets and run across yards, parks, and playgrounds. The sea shall be filled and the surf perch shall feast on the odd bringings of the reverse tide.

Watch for reports of mountain faces collapsing and black mud blocking traffic. As we watch the front of the Santa Anas, we shall undoubtably see changes.
