Blogging and Secrecy

Posted on January 18, 2005 in Attitudes Liberty

square208.gifI have a weird attitude when it comes to this blog. I want it read, but I don’t want it to be found or mentioned by certain people. A few weeks ago, a friend told others at a geocaching group that I had a good blog. Now I find myself being attacked for being a liberal.

Being a liberal, I have found, means that I support free speech and that that must be a bad thing. Or so I surmised from a crack made on a board that I am a member of. To tell the truth, I don’t like mixing my fun with my politics, but I don’t want to be told to just shut my mouth either.

Don’t think that this is the entire world or even all of a group. Every now and then I run into someone who doesn’t understand that my “politics” are inclusive and that I will stand up for them as well as one of my “liberal” friends.

They don’t get it. I say the word “community” and they hear “Communism”. They’re afraid that they’ll get cut out if everyone gets to speak. To them, liberty is a heaven where only so many people can stay. Go figure.

That’s what this blog is for: so I don’t say things over in those other places. So they get out.
