Out back of the Saddleback, it is raining. I don’t know where the clouds came from — clear skies held the edges of the post-storm wound open. The weather map shows thunderstorms going around the backside of the Transverse Ranges and down through the San Bernardino Valley. They’re concerned about flash floods in the desert. But only thin clouds pass overhead here. I’m going out to Huntington Beach later this evening: I do not expect to fight slick streets.
