Maternal Panic

I made a mistake the other day. I told my mother about the lump in my jaw and the vertigo Lynn has been experiencing lately. Almost immediately, she diagnosed me with cancer and Lynn with a brain tumor despite medical opinion to the contrary.

Next time, I shall keep my surgeries and Lynn’s afflictions to myself. Lord knows what she would think if I told her that I had a headache.
