You have to wonder about the roaches who send mass pings. First, they use a series of open mailer routers to send the information. So it’s a simple matter of blocking their IPs. Second, the pings that do get through get deleted — I spend about five minutes nuking them and they are gone for good.
The intelligence of these people must be quite low. Or else they have customers who don’t get that the “advertising” they are paying for doesn’t amount to anything. A fast sales talk about the “speed” and “wide broadcast” of their message sells a service which doesn’t bring in what it is touted to do. I think it was one of the Proctors or the Gambels who said that half the money they spent on advertising was a waste of money, but he didn’t know which half. I have a clue for those who attempt to advertise through this site: 100% of the time and the money you spend trying to advertise here is a waste.
