Painfully Swollen

square250.gifEveryone please give shelli a warm round of applause for minding the blog while I was incarcerated at Mission Hospital. I gave her permission to needle me in whatever way she chose. I do want to state for the record that I did not blow chow at the night nurse. Rather I was singing into a pink vomit bucket (amply sized) while she was injecting me with an anti-nausea drug. We did have a long and fascinating discussion about the different styles of upchucking, however. I’ll spare you the details except to ask do you ever do it through your nose?

Either food in the hospital was fine or the morphine changed my taste buds. I have a lump the size and shape of Panama growing along the incision line. As predicted, I have lost feeling in the lobe and the outer rim of my ear. The weirdest thing is that this area still itches. I can scratch it, the itch goes away, but I don’t feel the scratch. Right now, when I yawn or turn my head, I can feel the stitches stretching. No pain because of the wonder of vicodin. It’s good to be back in my own bed after that hospital bed which was too narrow and too short for my comfort.

Again, thank you to shelli for her excellent blog-sitting. Hope you enjoyed her company and will visit her blog Painfully Cool
