The Scar and the Ear

The swelling is going down and the scar disappearing as the skin contracts. I will always have the numbness in the lobe of my left ear. Just now I pinched it — hard — with a tweezer. I felt nothing. There are spots around the ear which are also numb. As the wound heals, they regain their feeling and, for a day or two, hurt.
