Profiles in Courage: The Magnificent Seven

square185.gifBill Frist has effectively declared war on the Middle now. He has called last night’s agreement between moderates of the two parties “a betrayal”. This exposes what the wRong is all about: undermining compromise and freedom. They don’t want to learn how to live with differences: they want to control the rest of us.

If John F. Kennedy were alive today, he would be already at his desk adding a new chapter to Profiles in Courage. Here are the names of The Magnificent Seven, courageous men and women of the Senate who stood up to the Reactionary Right and declared for fairness and tradition over the tyranny of those Red State Senators who represent a minority of the nation’s people:

  1. John McCain
  2. John Warner
  3. Olympia Snowe
  4. Susan Collins
  5. Mike DeWine
  6. Lincoln Chafee
  7. Lindsey Graham

There is no doubt that the true minority in the U.S. Senate will go to war against these brave individuals. That is typical of their cowardice and lack of sportsmanship: Leninists that they are, they will keep attacking our Constitution until they have brought it down entirely. Unfortunately for them, the golden laurel crown that they’ve been pouring for their dynasty has dribbled out of the mold. Instead of making an idol out of George W. Bush, true character has ensured that We the People shall rule.
