Insert a Trite Metaphor About a Corral

Posted on October 17, 2005 in Roundup

This roundup covers the period from 9 October 2005 to 16 October 2005.

square074Seeing the date October 9, I recall a button we had on the 1972 McGovern campaign. (I’ve never regretted my working for George — just remember who his opponent was, the second most corrupt president in US history). The button said “Remember October 9” and it pointed to something Richard Nixon said on that day in 1969: “Those who have had four years and have not found peace, should not have another four years.” It’s been nearly six years of Bush and what we have are THREE costly wars (Afghanistan, Iraq, and the War on Drugs — which is taking place on our city streets). The sad part is that Bush should not have been in the White House in the first place. He was, in both elections, clearly the inferior candidate.
