The Joel spent the week abiding after Thanksgiving. Everyone else went crazy over Iraq, Alito, Plame, Creationism, Intelligent Design, and Bob Woodward. Some bloggers wrote about things which were off the track which has been beaten into a bottomless pit by the pundit-following herd and for that, The Joel was grateful. The Joel might have upset a few people for calling things as he sees them, but this guy just goes as he can.
Many things passed before my eyes this week:
Widespread mental trauma in Pakistan; a wife-raper sets out to protect teenagers; Bill O’Reilly slandered; legislating from the bench; responding to Hillary; the Republican collapse; why doesn’t George Bush go near ordinary citizens anymore?; no war with honor in Iraq; how to write unmaintainable code; on slavery and death; HELLP Syndrome; and the faces of America’s poor children.
Medicaid plans to drop the antipsychotics Seroquel and Abilify; fruit bats carry Ebola Zaire; was there a plot to bomb Al-Jazeera?; safe house cleaning methods; the Gutenberg Bible; an Enspicelopedia; becoming an egg donor; bedbugs, bedbugs and more bedbugs; dog toys; the importance of consumer networking; the media elite ignores public concerns about why we went to war in Iraq; CNN stigmatizes the homeless; the domestic glass ceiling; Greyhound stew; Mount Saint Helens is erupting; the Vatican and the meaning of suffering; and keeping the world safe from Quakers.
