A Winter of My Content

square274A lovely blankness stretches. Taut like a pressed sheet in a frame, but without the thread grid. One smooth piece, a map without crossings or seas or mountain ranges. Stare at it. Do not paint on it or write on it. This is Purity. And that Purity holds me together in the dark season.

There is no explaining it other than to metaphorize it. Take a hammer and a bit. Impress the seal onto the imagination. Watch that lead spread and watch it become the lovely blankness, unperfected by what I think should be represented. No making of a dragon or an ouroboros or a grand coat of arms bearing spears and perhaps a jaguar. Just the blessed blankness, the Purity of Silence, a Friendship with the World.

How reassuring Strangeness is for me.
