The Left has become as scandal-happy as the wRong was during the Clinton years. This blog, for example, thought it fit to painstakingly examine the chain of events surrounding Cheney’s shooting of his hunting buddy and not a word about the privatization of the InterNet which could undermine their ability to broadcast said “exposes”.
The trouble with leftist bloggers is that they let The New York Times and the Washington Post take the lead, all the while whining about how these rag and pulp products set the focus for the nation’s stories. Their eagle-screams make it clear that they have never heard of FAIR, for example, or Common Cause. Or is it that these demand a level of accountability and research which take these bloggers too far and too fast away from the keyboard?
More important that the people are the issues. The leftist yellow press needs to bleach its papers and set better priorities.
If you have to read something about Cheney’s hunting accident, read this report from FAIR:
In almost every instance when a politician “takes responsibility” with great fanfare, there’s no penalty attached to the proclamation. Across the terrain of political media, the I-take-responsibility maneuver is the equivalent of a hit-and-run driver offering an over-the-shoulder yell of “Sorry about that” while speeding away from a grisly scene.
