Lynn and I walk out of a department store, bearing shoes, a towel, and other items that we forget to purchase. I want to go back and make good. So we try to find our way back into the shopping mall, but every driveway we take proves to lead to a strip mall or a residential development. Lynn’s not as interested in paying as I am. So I drop her off at a beauty salon and try to reach the store via a medical office building.
The clinic is a dead end, all blue glass and white lights. I meet a doctor who mistakes me for the building manager. He tells me that he is here to clean out the office of a colleague who had died.
