Aortal – This Girl Thinks

I’ve been a supporter of the InterNet as “folk revolution” as long as I have had an email account (since 1988). Aortal.com is not a network or a portal, but a movement of bloggers who, each week, promote another blog. This is a Thursday series. I encourage others to do the same.

Look who joined the neighborhood!

I don’t remember how I found Tuesday’s blog, but I have followed it ever since. A couple of weeks ago, I invited her to leave blogspot and join us here at notfrisco2.com.

This is one of the best blogs written by students that I have found. Tuesday is passionate about politics (as are most of us these days) and writes emotionally about her struggles to cope with unreason in American public life. She’s not all politics, however and certainly not above participating in memes or posting some silliness like Name that Fish.

I like her pretty much for the same reasons I like all the people who appear at the left of this page: she’s an honest writer when it comes to her inner feelings. Though sometimes (as in this passage), she may let her fatalism get the better of her:

I thought to myself the evening of November 4, 2002 that if the Republicans got the majority, they won’t ever give it back. And now, we will all get to see that smirky fucking Bush mug grinning his arrogance all over tv for the rest of our fucking lives. And our slow descent into endless, mindless war will, well, we should be at war with just about every other country in the world by my birthday next summer.

Crazy Tracy would be proud of Tuesday’s use of the F Word.

My frustration at seeing her comments down all the time and the recurrent difficulties I had bringing up her page at blogspot led me to bring her to join my other friends here at notfrisco2.

She’s worth the read and she fits with the community I’ve established. (Yes, there’s still room). I hope you will take the time to visit both her new and her old sites.
