Lynn’s car broke down and the repair is expensive and lengthy. She couldn’t get the Tercel to start yesterday. We played around with jumper cables, got the thing running, and then rode down to Auto Nation where they ran some tests. The battery, alternator, and starter all functioned fine. She took it down to the Toyota dealership where they ran even more sophisticated tests. They concluded that something called the ignitor had aged (the car has 207,000+ miles) and needed to be replaced. Irvine Toyota doesn’t keep spare parts for geriatric Tercels on hand, so Lynn has monopoly of the truck until Wednesday.
I guess I’ll just chain myself to the desk and do data entry for City of the Silent.
