I did a u-turn at a light when I had to cancel the Thursday night group because Leah couldn’t make it. A mile further on, as I crossed the Santiago Canyon bridge over the 133 toll road, I saw a pair of headlights about a quarter mile ahead of me. I checked my position: the double yellows were on my left as they should have been. The lights kept coming towards me, so I laid into the horn and veered to the right. For a moment, I was in a panicked shock. The other driver must have discovered his error because I do not remember the swish of a close call.
On another night, farther up the canyon, I made the bend past the overhead gravel truck bridge and saw an oppossum that looked like one of those children who age prematurely. Today, someone left a Tweety Bird doll in the street near my house.
That about catches up my driving experiences for the last two weeks. Many small incidents that did not add up to a story here.
