Simaholics Anonymous?

Teresa at In Sequence has been dedicating a little space to her love of The Sims lately. She’s not alone. Grey Bird has been somewhat silent lately because she would rather Sim than blog. And there are quite a few others who gladly give hours of time to inflicting grief on the lives of their little computer people.

Gleefully, I came up with a 12 step program for Simaholics. Steps 2 through 12 read pretty much like the standards for others, but I think even Teresa and the Grey Bird will get a kick out of Step One:

We realized that we were powerless over computers and that the lives of our Sims had become unmanageable.

Here’s a problem: we are the higher power in The Sims. What good is it going to do if we turn their messed up lives over to ourselves?

I should add that I am the author of a notorious tract called Cemeteries in the Sims which tells you, among other things, how to kill your Sims to make a cemetery. Yes, I, too, am an addict.
