The weather here has started to feel like a Maine summer. Clouds have passed us by and the night air has only the slightest chill to it. I felt foolish when I went out wearing a jacket and then had to take it off inside the soup and salad buffet place.
I miss the rain of the last two weeks. I miss being able to sleep through the day without any sound other than the myriad drops slamming into the pavement and trickling through the trees. Now it’s back to cars and kids playing and parents screaming at them to come home. The silence is missed.
Just for the hell of it, I docked up Microsoft Flight Simulator and flew around Australia’s Northern Territory where a hurricane was passing over. The wind slammed me about a bit, but I managed to fly a straight and narrow line once I got myself up to a decent altitude in autopilot. I didn’t dare attempt to land!
