I remember the days when I could open my email box and find actual, personal messages addressed to me. That was the beauty of the net when I first came on in 1988. You posted something and people you didn’t know wrote to you with their thoughts and their ideas. Now putting out the word that you exist is like publishing a book of poetry or, as one humorist put it, like dropping a rose petal into the Grand Canyon and listening for the echo.
