Dream

Posted on August 31, 2002 in Dreams

A very confused dream, like a refrigerator randomly stuffed with all kinds of food, some wrapped, some half unwrapped, some loose, some ready to eat, some to be cooked. The refrigerator is part of that dream. And so are both my parents, who are angry because I don’t have a job. Some pretty young women are present — are they cousins? My father is angry, demanding that I determine for him whether the crock pot he wants to cook in is steel or crockery. I take off the lid and show him how to tell by looking at the rim. They’ve grown quite disgusted with me, so they’ve rented out my room. I share it with this personable black fellow. My father comes in and starts to fight with him, demanding that he live according to all kinds of rules. The fellow’s girlfriend stands nearby. My father chases him out through the window and out of the house. Other things happen. The whole dream is entangled by its own symbols and hard to follow.

I think her story demonstrates very nicely the danger inherent in any established religious authority, particularly those based on accidents of biology such as sex.

Ass Friday

Posted on August 30, 2002 in Humor?

Two weeks ago, Crazy Tracy declared that from now on she would observe “Ass Friday”…. It seems today that she’s already grown tired of pursuing Sorrento around the house with her digital camera or that Sorrento had steadfastly stood with her back against the wall whenever Tracy came in the same room as her. I can’t say that I blame her…..

Becca, Red Water Lily and I fight to be ourselves in a world that thinks it knows our minds and can make better prescriptions for our happiness than the ones we know to soothe.

Clint Eastwood taught many people that it was perfectly fine to be schizoid and hypocritical, to speak of love and act in a bellicose fashion; to promote yourself as honorable and cheat your way to the top.

I slapped together a new look for Ganesha’s Library. I figure I can do about two of these transfers a week.

Please visit that site for my book, video, and music reviews. You can also do all your Amazon.com shopping there.

The Courage to be a Big Weakling

Posted on August 28, 2002 in Attitudes Neighborhood

I’ve learned that it takes courage to say “no” to a woman who wants you to push her car up a hill; courage that is not too dis-similar, if somewhat milder, than that of a teenaged girl rejecting the advances of an amorous boyfriend.

Do they housebreak them? Do these things have engines? Do they neuter them first so they don’t spray?
