I’m living with my parents because Lynn is off at school somewhere. Either up north or back east, I don’t know because she’s left me several phone numbers. I try several of them but either they are disconnected, keep ringing, or end up in dead space. My parents are angry with me and make me go out to clean a massive algae bloom from the tiny swimming pool in the backyard. I fish out the gunk, look at my wedding ring, and wonder if we’re still married, if Lynn is coming back.
