This Election Has Been Stolen

Posted on November 3, 2004 in Campaign 2004

square191.gifDo not accept the results. This election has been stolen. The exit polls have never been off by so many percentage points before. This election has been stolen. Do not accept them. This election has been stolen.

We are not living in America if we sit down and let this be done to us.

Take the computers to court.

If the Democratic Party is laying down on this, after the voting purges and the suspicions about the computers, then it will never again enjoy my support. I voted for them in 2000 and in 2004, each time against my belief, each time resisting the urge to vote my conscience. I was hectored and heckled for thinking otherwise, accused that I would give the election to Bush. Both times I did my duty.

You can change this John Kerry. You can listen to John Edwards and you can take Bush to Court. Now. About Ohio. About every state that uses computers.

Even Kerry’s staffers are perplexed why he is giving this up. To tell the truth, I have had a secret dread: that John Kerry would wimp out when it counted, that he had pushed Dean out because he knew Dean would not take this lieing down. John Kerry: show me to be wrong.

A last thought: I saw too much anger in Las Vegas among campaign workers. This can only lead to demoralization if our leadership refuses to carry on the fight as it has. What we need is to unite around platforms of love and commitment. Only in this way can we continue, can we win.

The future for the Democrats? Do they dare listen to us this time? Organize the Progressive Christian Community. Push to have the computers taken out of the hands of private contractors and into nonpartisan hands. Insist on paper tracking. Stop the purges.

Do not give up.

If you want to call Kerry and tell him to point his boat at the fire, his Senate office number is (202) 224-2742. His campaign office is 212-712-3000.

Edwards is 202-224-3153. Tell him to tell Kerry to keep up the Fight.

The exit polls were not off. The final polls are suspect.
